Qualification - Full Time Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute of India.
Pay-Scale - Rs. 18500-23900
EXPERIANCE & AGE REQUIREMENTS
15 years out of which at least 2 years in the immediate lower IDA scale of Rs. 17500-22300/-or equivalent CDA scale.
(i) Relaxation in the total length of experience prescribed will be given to SC/ST candidates by one year where the experience requirement is more than three years.
(ii) For candidates applying from Private Sector Two years experience in immediate below scale is not relevant.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Scale of Pay: Rs. 18500-23900/- (Due for upward revision w.e.f. 01.01.2007)

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process consists of Personal Interview which will be held at Corporate Office, Shimla.
CONCESSIONS FOR SC/ST/PH/OBC AND J&K CANDIDATES:
Concession for SC/ST/Physically Challenged:
i. Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST.
ii. For Physically Challenged, upper age is relaxable by 10 years for General Category, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST category.
iii. For SC/ST/Physically Challenged, no application fee is payable and they must enclose a copy of certificate in proof of belonging to SC/ST & Physically Challenged category from competent authority in the format prescribed by the Govt. of India.
iv. Relaxation in the length of experience prescribed will be given to SC/ST candidates by one year in total experience required where the requirement is more than three years.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. The candidate should not have attained the Upper Age prescribed above as on the above closing date of the advertisement.
2. For all the above posts, candidates should possess educational qualifications which are from recognised University/Institute of India.
3. The candidates should have minimum adequate experience as on closing date mentioned above in multi-unit Public Sector Undertaking / Large Organisation of repute. The candidate should have preferably worked in Hydro Electric Project.
4. Persons working under Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should submit their application through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy of the application along with requisite enclosures.
5. Incomplete applications are liable to be summarily rejected.
6. The candidates applying should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions. Their admission at all the stages of the Interview will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Interview Call Letter to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by SJVN.
7. In case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature shall be rejected/cancelled without assigning any reason, thereof. Similarly, even after joining, if it is found that he/she has furnished any incorrect information or suppressed any material information, his/her services shall be summarily terminated.
8. The decision of the SJVN as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the Interview shall be final.
9. The candidates called for the Personal Interview will be reimbursed return rail/bus fare by shortest route as per the rules of the Nigam.
10. Only Indian Nationals need apply.
11. Applications received after the closing date shall neither be entertained nor returned.
